David joined the firm as a partner in 2022. In his talent-focused practice, David counsels screenwriters, actors, directors, producers and songwriters in their film, television and digital media endeavors, in the sale of media rights to their literary properties and stage plays, and in the negotiation of commercial endorsement deals. He is an experienced advocate for multihyphenate talent, helping creators from the publishing, theatre and music worlds cross over successfully to film and television. David’s arrival at the firm brings with it the launch of our Los Angeles office, a first in the firm’s forty-plus-year history.
Prior to joining the firm, David was a partner at McKuin Frankel Whitehead LLP in Beverly Hills, where he represented leading film and television screenwriters and showrunners as well as actors and directors. Previously, as an associate at Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham LLP in New York, David worked with marquee talent working on- and off-screen, and specialized in stage-to-screen adaptations of musicals and plays from the Broadway stage, helping to structure complex rights, producing and songwriting deals with studios on behalf of Tony-award-winning book writers, composers and lyricists. He began his career as an agent trainee in the storied William Morris Agency mailroom in New York.
